Vasted Time - Art Print

This painting tries to capture the “ticking time bomb feeling” that comes with the (totally okay!) “directionlessness” of young adulthood. Being in your 20s can feel like your whole life is ahead of you but you don’t really know what to do with it. The bubbly forms floating around the canvas represent how I feel like I’m floating through this murky web of space and time. The forms are free to take any shape or become anything, but they are bouncing around unmoored. The forms that are vases have been able to take some sort of shape and find a sort of purpose, and the plants in them represent the roots that I have been able to put down. But they’re not fully stable - they are like saplings, or cuttings, that have yet to be propagated and are temporarily placed in vases of water. This description might sound negative, but I also have come to believe there is also beauty in this confusion. Its amorphousness isn’t inherently wrong or bad, it just .. is. And it's possible it will never be quite like this again.
