Pampa - Art Print

This portrait of a fictional South Asian woman invokes the impressionist portrait style of artists like Van Gogh. I felt inspired to paint Pampa after reading Salman Rushdie’s Victory City, in which the main character is a magical woman named Pampa, who gives birth to an entire empire. I wanted to feature and celebrate strong South Asian women and their features in this bold portrait style.
