Heartbreak Insurance - Art Print
This poster is a fictional ad created in Adobe Illustrator for ‘heartbreak insurance’, a product that comments on the way dating has become gamified, and how people avoid or withhold intimacy as a means of trying to circumnavigate the uncomfortable feelings of anger, sadness, and confusion that often accompany the end of a relationship.
I have seen examples of 'no strings attached', 'speed dating', 'practice dating' and similar trends and terms popularized in media for as long as I can remember. When I was a teenager, I began realizing how these practices showed up, often harmfully, both in my own life and others'. I have personally struggled with both the intimacy and abandonment that comes with the ebb and flow of relationships. As I work towards being more comfortable with these feelings, and not letting them prevent me from forming meaningful connections, I have seen the power that lies in being more gentle with each other in the romantic, platonic, and familial spheres of my life.
In some ways it’s tough to put this out there, but I hope it makes you feel less alone or at the least gets a chuckle out of you. And personally, I think a print would look really cute in your room ;)
Available in both Glossy and Matte versions.
